The Legal AI Copilot is ComplyWise's assistant for regulatory and legal work. It answers questions grounded in your own documents and curated regulator material, drafts and reviews documents, fills due diligence questionnaires, and searches clauses across everything you hold.
What it can do
- Regulatory Q&A. Ask questions in plain language. Attach your own documents or scope the conversation to curated regulator packs, and answers come back with citations you can verify.
- Drafting. The Copilot produces documents as artifacts in a side panel, with versions you can download or save into your Document Library.
- Document review. Run a structured AI review on a single document, or build review tables that extract typed findings across many documents at once.
- DDQ responses. Import a due diligence questionnaire and let the Copilot draft answers from your fact sheet and documents, each with sources.
- Clause search. Find verbatim passages across your library, KYB records, and regulator packs without spending any AI credits.
What it is not
The Copilot is a research and drafting aid, not a lawyer. Its output is not legal advice and can contain errors: always verify citations against the linked source and have qualified counsel review anything that matters.
Models and credits
Each conversation runs on a model you pick from several vetted models, all routed with zero data retention. The picker shows each model's credit multiplier and its token limit, the most text it can read in one call. Your pick is remembered on this device for new conversations; document reviews and review tables remember their own model separately, tuned for long files. Models carry different credit multipliers, shown in the picker. AI usage draws from a dedicated AI credit pool, separate from your screening credits; see AI credits for what is metered.
Privacy
- Requests route through the AI provider under enforced zero-data-retention terms: your prompts and documents are not stored by the model providers and are never used to train models.
- Document indexing for retrieval also runs under a no-training policy with the AI provider.
- Conversations are private to their creator. Teammates cannot read your threads unless you add a thread to a project, where other AI users can read it (but never write in it).
Availability
The Legal AI module requires a workspace entitlement plus the AI permission on your role. If the sidebar shows Legal AI as not enabled, or you cannot open it, contact your platform team, or support@complywise.io.
