Entity screening checks a company or individual against sanctions lists, PEP registers, and watchlists through our screening data provider. This article shows you how to run a screen from the Risk Screener and straight from the KYB Manager.
Before you start
- You need the screening permission, held by Workspace Admins and Editors by default, and the Risk Screener module enabled for your workspace.
- Each run uses screening credits from your workspace allowance.
Screen from the Risk Screener
- Open Risk Screener in the sidebar. The Entities & Individuals tab is the default view.
- Click to add a new subject, choose whether it is a company or a person, and enter the name and country. The country helps the provider distinguish between similarly named subjects, so fill it in whenever you know it.
- Run the screen. The subject joins the screened-parties register with its result: the number of candidate matches found and the resulting risk band.
Only candidates that score at or above your workspace's match threshold are surfaced. The threshold is part of your screening rules; see Configure screening rules.
Resolve the candidate matches
A screening result with candidates is not a verdict yet: it is a list of possible matches for you to review.
- Click Review on the row to open the party's screening report.
- For each candidate, compare what you screened against what is on the list: aliases, dates of birth, countries, and positions.
- Confirm a candidate if it is genuinely your subject, or Dismiss it as a false positive.
Until every candidate is resolved, the row reads Severe · unconfirmed, which means "awaiting your review", not "confirmed hit". Dismissing all candidates clears the verdict. See Review and clear hits for the full walkthrough.
Screen from the KYB Manager
You can also screen without leaving an entity's KYB record:
- Open the entity under KYB Manager and go to its risk score card.
- Click Screen for risk.
- The result appears as a colored inherent-risk band on the KYB Manager (Clear, Elevated, High, or Severe), with a separate network line for counterparty exposure. Parties in the ownership register get their own risk pills.
This screens the entity together with its owners and directors, weighted by ownership, which is what the inherent-risk score is built from.
Re-screen
Lists change, so results age. To refresh a subject, click Re-screen on its row in the register. Each run is stored, so earlier results remain in the screening history; re-screening never overwrites the record of what you knew and when.
