A screening run gives you candidates, not conclusions. This article shows you how to work through the evidence for each candidate match, record one decision for the run, and leave a locked record of who decided what and why.
Open the report
- Open Risk Screener and find the party in the Entities & Individuals register. Rows with unresolved candidates show Severe · unconfirmed.
- Click Review (or View report on a row with nothing open) to open the party's screening report.
The report is built as a comparison: the data input (the name, country and identifiers you entered, from the party's record) next to what is on the list for each candidate. For each candidate you see:
- Aliases and alternative spellings.
- Date of birth and nationality, where the list records them.
- Countries and registration numbers.
- Positions held, for PEP entries.
- The source lists the candidate appears on, and topic chips summarizing why it matched.
Where the underlying list publishes a public record for the candidate, the card links out to it so you can read the original source entry.
Review and sign off
Every run gets one sign-off: a decision, a written conclusion, the reviewer's name and the time, plus a fingerprint of the report as it stood. The sign-off cannot be edited or removed; a later re-screen creates a new run that needs its own sign-off.
- On the report page, click Review & sign off in the header.
- Choose the decision (see below), write your conclusion in the box (it is required) and click Sign off & lock.
- The header now shows Reviewed by, the date and the decision, and a Review sign-off section above the history lists the conclusion and the report fingerprint.
Dismiss a false positive
If the candidates are clearly not your subject (different person, coincidental name overlap), choose Dismissed as a false positive. The party reads Clear until the next re-screen: the cached verdict resets, the band drops, and the KYB Manager band recalculates without it. The historical run is kept unchanged, so the append-only history still shows what the screen originally found and how it was resolved, which is exactly what an auditor wants to see.
Confirm a real hit
If a candidate genuinely is your subject, choose Confirmed as a true match. The verdict stands, the party stays flagged, and the result flows through to the KYB Manager's risk score card and ownership register pills.
A clean run
A run with no hits is signed off as Reviewed, no matches. The conclusion is still required: it records that someone looked at what was checked and the closest candidates below the threshold.
Use the review thread
The Review activity section at the end of the report is the party's running thread: every sign-off and comment appears there with the reviewer's name and the date, so a reader can follow who checked what over time.
The full report and PDF
The report page is the deep surface: everything the screening provider returned about each candidate, the network around it, the run history and the sign-off.
- The header shows the verdict (with "unconfirmed" until the run is signed off), the PEP exposure, the screening date and, once signed off, the reviewer and decision. Five tiles summarise hits by kind (with the match threshold), the best match and what it rests on, the inherent risk with its cap reason, the network, and the data input: exactly which identity fields were provided.
- Each evidence card opens with Why it matched: the provider's match features drawn to scale (exact name, name similarity, registration number, country, and so on), with a note on which fields were provided and which were not. Add the missing fields to the party record to sharpen the next run.
- Identity on the list and The listing sit side by side: aliases, previous names, registration, tax and LEI numbers, incorporation, addresses and contact details on the left; programme, authority, listed date, reason, provisions, datasets and first-seen / last-change dates on the right, with links to the official listing page and the provider record. A PEP card shows the person's details and the positions held as a timeline. Listing details are fetched once at screen time and stored with the run, so what you decided on stays on record; an older run shows Load listing details to fetch them once.
- Network around the hits lists the owners, directors, family members and associates the provider links to each listed record. A node already in your register links to it; Screen as a party opens the screening intake prefilled with the node's details and nothing is created until you click Screen. Network parties are shown for context and never summed into the inherent score.
- Review sign-off shows who signed the latest run off, when, the decision, the conclusion and the report fingerprint. It is locked: the fingerprint lets the PDF prove nothing changed since the review.
- History lists every run with its verdict, hits, what changed since the previous run (hits added or removed) and who signed it off; a run without a sign-off reads pending.
- A clean report keeps every section in place: what was checked (lists, coverage, threshold), the closest candidates that fell below the threshold, and one line each for sanctions, PEPs, network and review activity, so a reader can see what was checked rather than just that nothing came back.
- Export PDF produces the evidence file: a cover with the identity, verdict, run details and the sign-off, one evidence card per hit, the network table, the history and the review activity, on numbered and dated pages. A report that has not been signed off asks you to review it first; you can still download a draft, which is watermarked DRAFT and carries no sign-off.
