This link is no longer valid

You opened a link someone sent you (to view a document package, upload documents, or sign a document) and the page says the link is no longer valid.

  • It was revoked. The sender can turn a link off at any time.
  • It was replaced. Re-copying a link, reissuing it, or emailing a share link again creates a new one and kills the old one, so an earlier email may hold a dead copy.
  • Too many wrong answers at the gate. On a link restricted to one address, repeated wrong addresses lock the gate for the rest of the day, and the correct address is refused as well until the lock clears.
  • It expired. Links can carry an expiry date.
  • The process finished. A completed signing or collection has nothing left to do.

What to do

  • Signing links: if the page offers to email you a fresh link, use it. The new link goes to the email address the sender recorded for you, never to an address you type, so it is safe and immediate.
  • Everything else: ask the person who sent you the link to send a new one. That is always the fastest fix.

Why the page tells you so little

The page never reveals who sent the link, what it pointed to, or who else is involved. That is by design: a link that has stopped working should give a stranger holding it nothing at all.
